Hide & Seek
The show is based around the very simple concept of a game of hide and seek, we the audience follow in separate groups a brother and sister as they play the game all over their house. As we travel through the space begin to see the darker story of the unravelling of their family around them, from overheard conversations on the top of staircases, to arguments shouted through doors. This story, seen through the eyes of children is a fantastical journey into the dissolution and destruction of a family using site specific, promenade and interactive storytelling to invite the audience into the show told behind closed doors. When developing the show I began thinking extensively about how as an audience member we can really get a sense that we are looking onto a world, not simply seeing a show on a stage but one that we are truly involved in. This is where the idea for Hide & Seek originally came from, that an audience can be told different parts of story from different perspectives and in a variety of ways and still build up a history and experience a journey is incredibly fascinating.
